“hr tool” game
unicredit bank
Helping UniCredit Bank properly profile and hire new employees.
I had the pleasure of working closely with behavioural psychologists at UniCredit Bank to conceptualize, design, and write a game used as a recruitment tool for future employees. I helped build the project from the ground up and delivered everything needed for UniCredit’s in-house development team to implement it.
Following the success of this project, I was immediately brought onto UniCredit’s larger Onboarding App, where I spent two years working through development and launch.
what you say is what you think.
the brief
UniCredit Bank of Czech Republic has approched my studio Fuchs Dachs with a problem that often occurs when hiring new people for their branches. We suggested we design a tool that will be able to, under given rules, predefine whether the candidate is a good fit for the specific job description or not. This not only saves time for the HR at UniCredit bank, it also provides them with a playful tool, people lively engage with and also makes their brand stand out among other banks.
brief and added value of the tool
In fabricating daily life situations, we run a simulation that monitors candidates' responses, alignments, logic and agility, and overall response time.
Imagine a fun personality-quiz-style game that reveals whether a candidate is the right fit for a role. That’s exactly what we built for UniCredit Bank.
My studio handled the complete design of the tool from concept to final assets, built entirely from scratch. Because development was scheduled to start only after design and asset delivery, we worked with high agility and minimal iteration, ensuring everything was production-ready and delivered on time.
The project led directly to a larger collaboration with UniCredit (to be announced soon) and is now used as a regular in-house hiring tool at the bank.
responsibilities
PSYCHOLOGY PROFILING
Together with UniCredit Bank’s behavioural psychology team, we defined a complete set of character profiles for the types of candidates they were looking to hire across different departments.
NARRATIVE AND GAME DESIGN
We shaped a clear narrative aligned with the hiring goals and agreed on the core gameplay structure. Candidates entered the experience through a chat-based interface that profiled them dynamically, each response unlocking tailored follow-up questions. This approach significantly sped up candidate screening, helping identify strong fits while filtering out unsuitable applicants early.
CREATIVE DIRECTION
My team defined the creative direction and visual style of the tool, using a pixel art aesthetic, which is one of our strongest disciplines. The client was very satisfied with the result. We ensured UniCredit’s branding was clearly and consistently integrated throughout the experience.
All assets and creative output were delivered to UniCredit’s in-house development team, who handled the programming and implementation.
